Rocky Women’s Soccer Dominates in Home Opener Over OUAZ

BILLINGS, Mont. - Three different Battlin' Bears found the back of the net while the defense pitched a shutout, leading Rocky Women's Soccer to a commanding 3-0 victory over OUAZ in their home opener.

The victory marks the first win for Interim Head Coach Kevin Luse, keeping the Battlin' Bears undefeated through their first three games of the 2026 season.

How it Happened
Charlize Davis orchestrated the opening goal in the 22nd minute. Ava Gibson picked out Davis deep in OUAZ territory, and Davis worked close to the post before slipping a pass across to an open Mia Daskalovska, who buried it into the open net for a 1-0 lead.

Rocky came out of the halftime break firing on all cylinders. In the 51st minute, senior Morgan Hayes broke free from the Spirit defense, drawing the OUAZ goalkeeper out of position. While Hayes' initial strike was turned away, the rebound fell directly to Charlize Davis right in front of an open net, where she tapped in her third goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0.

Fifteen minutes later, Reese Jeffers delivered a picture-perfect free kick into the box, connecting with Grace Curnow for a sharp header into the net to seal the 3-0 triumph.

Notable Statistics
Rocky outshot OUAZ 16-7 overall, putting nine shots on target. Molly Loughton, Mia Daskalovska, and Charlize Davis generated three shots apiece, with all three of Davis' attempts being on frame. Goalkeeper Matea Vernon turned away all three shots she faced to record her first shutout of the season and the seventh of her career.
