While an undergrad, Coach Stutz began his journey at the University of Wyoming, where he made a name for himself as the starting quarterback of one of the biggest upsets in college football history. The Cowboys defeated the University of Tennessee 13-7 in 2008. Stutz was named Freshman All-Conference in the Mountain West. After a brief stint at Indiana State University, Coach Stutz finished his college career at Morningside College, where he was named All-Great Plains Athletic Conference. William Penn University was Coach Stutzriem's first stop professionally (2011, 2012). He worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Statesmen. Stutz left to coach under his head coach at Wyoming Joe Glenn at the University of South Dakota for the 2013 season. He then returned to William Penn as the offensive coordinator for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Coach Stutzriem spent his first stint at Rocky Mountain College in 2016 and 2017, where he was the offensive coordinator. He left to be the offensive line and assistant head coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University for the 2018 season.

During his career Coach Stutzriem has coached five NFL players (Damon Harrison, Nick DiMarco, Darneail Jenkins, Troy Bacon, and Alex Bush), and coached a multitude of All-Conference and All-American student Athletes.
