Owsley joins the Battlin' Bears in August of 2023 to be an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, as well as the Head Coach for the Developmental Men's Basketball team. Owsley comes to Rocky Mountain College most recently from Missoula Big Sky High School, where he coached the Freshman team. He also coached freshman at Florence Carlton High School before going to Big Sky.Â
Owsley's coaching career began as a student assistant at Montana Western under Steve Keller, who he will share coaching duties with again entering the 2023-24 season. Before his coaching career began, Owsley was a player under Coach Keller, earning 2nd Team All-American honors, as well as 1st Team and 2nd Team All-Conference honors. He was a member of the Montana Western squad that were Frontier Co-Conference Champions in 2011-12, the same season they made the Sweet 16 at the NAIA National Tournament. They also made it to the Quarterfinals in the NAIA National Touranment in the 2012-13 season under Coach Steve Keller.Â
Owsley is orignally from Bozeman, Montana. His family includes his parents, Phil and Chris, as well as brother PJ and sister Lyndsey.Â
