Coach Richard Duffy graduated from the University of Mary in 2000 with his bachelor's degree. He then went on to get his master's degree from the University of Mary as well. While attending Mary, Coach Duffy was a two time All-American (1998,1999).
Coach Duffy came to Rocky Mountain College as assistant women's coach in 2001. He took over the women's program in 2002. Since taking over the Battlin' Bears women, the team has won four conference regular season championships under Duffy's leadership (2008,2011,2012,2013). He has coached two NAIA National Tournament appearances, including a round of 16 appearance in 2019. He has coached 10 All-Americans.
Coach Duffy started the men's program in 2009. The men's program has won five conference regular season championships (2013,2015,2016,2017,2020) and five conference tournament championships (2012,2013,2014,2015,2018). Duffy has coached the Battlin' Bears men to seven NAIA National Tournament appearances, including two round of 8 appearances (2015,2018). He has coached eight All-Americans and the 2013 NAIA National Player of the Year (Oliver Gore).
Coach Duffy holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier License and a United States Soccer Federation A License.Â
Richard Duffy is married to Kelly Duffy, and they have four sons (Jordan, Charlie, Lewis, Henry).
