Background: Young, a 5-foot-9-inch point guard from Gig Harbor, Washington, averaged 14 points per game, five rebounds per game, six assists per game, and four steals per game in her career at Gig Harbor High School. Young was named Team MVP and Offensive MVP while being first team SPSL in 2020-21 and second team All League 3A South Sound Conference in 2019-20 and 2021-22.
