Biography
2025–26 (Junior): Quinnell's junior season was cut short due to injury, but in six appearances, his playing time jumped to 19.5 minutes per game, and his production increased to averages of 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.5 blocks per contest. In those contests, he shot 51.9 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from long range, and an excellent 85.7 percent from the free-throw line. His standout performance of the season occurred on November 21, 2025, during a dominant 99–58 victory over Bismarck State College, where he poured in a career-high 18 points on an incredibly efficient 8-of-10 shooting while collecting 6 rebounds and 2 steals in just 22 minutes off the bench.
2024–25 (Sophomore): Quinnell appeared in ten contests, averaging 5.5 minutes per game. He concluded his second season averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebound per game, while matching his previous season's mark of 0.4 assists and recording 0.2 blocks per contest. Quinnell also raised his shooting percentages across the board, finishing the season at 42.1 percent from the floor, 25.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 50.0 percent from the charity stripe.
2023–24 (Freshman): Quinnell made his collegiate debut during the 2023–24 season, providing frontline depth for the Battlin' Bears. He appeared in 19 games, earning his first collegiate start against Southern Alberta Institute of Technology on December 31st. Over the course of the season, he averaged 10.4 minutes, 3.0 points, and 2.2 rebounds per game, alongside 0.4 assists and 0.3 blocks. He shot 34.9 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from three-point range, and 42.9 percent from the free-throw line. A major highlight of his debut season came in just his second game of his career, totaling a season-high 15 points, five rebounds, and a block in 16 minutes played in a 100-98 victory over OUAZ.
Background: Attended Opunake HS in Opunake, New Zealand, where he averaged 35 points per game and was named the 2022 A SS Nationals Boys Tournament MVP. Quinnell was a member of the New Zealand U18 FIBA team prior to competing for Rocky. Plans to study Health & Human Performance.
