Biography

2022-23 Season (Sophomore): Appeared in 30 of Rocky's 31 games...Started 25 games in her first season with the Battlin' Bears...Averaged 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in 26.6 minutes per game...Scored a season-high 17 points with five three-pointers against Carroll College (2/11/23)...Swiped a career-high six steals against MSU-Northern (1/21/23), tied for the most by a Battlin' Bear in 2022-23...Tallied two or more steals in 15 different games...Had three or more steals in eight different games...Ranked second on the team in made three-pointers (42), assists (67, 2.2 ast/g), and steals (51, 1.7 stl/g)...Totaled the fourth most steals and seventh most made threes and assists in the Frontier Conference in her first season with the Battlin' Bears. 

Background: Ky Oliver (Buell) attended Cheyenne East HS in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she had a historic career that included leaving Cheyenne West as the all-time three-pointers made leader in Wyoming high school girl's basketball history, and holds school records in most assists in a season, most points scored in a game, the three-pointer made in a game/season, and free throws in a game, being named Miss Basketball in Wyoming her senior season. Buell committed to NJCAA Western Nebraska Community College to meet up with high school and now Battlin' Bear teammate Madison Blaney, where she averaged 10.7 points per game and 3.7 assists per game in 23 games as a true freshman in the 2020-21 season. Buell transferred to NCAA DII Western Colorado University the following season, where she started 18 games and played in 27 games before ultimately transferring to Rocky Mountain College ahead of the 2022-23 season.
