BILLINGS, Mont. – The Rocky Mountain College men's golf team defeated MSU Billings 7.5-4.5 to earn the 2017 Mike Grob Cup title. The Battlin' Bears get the cup back after the Yellowjackets took the crown last year.
 
Rocky trailed by one point following the alternate shot rounds on Friday. Michael Tait and Reece Nilsen scored the point by winning their match 3&1.
 
The Battlin' Bears swept the three points available during Saturday's four-ball matches. Nilsen and Schafer Paladichuk won their match 3&2. Tait joined HoTae Kim to win 4&3 while Colton Murphy and Mitchell Thiessen took a 2&1 win.
 
In Sunday's singles matches, Rocky got wins from Paladichuk, Thiessen and Tait. Nilsen earned one-half point after playing his match all square.
 
Tait led the event by recording three points. Nilsen finished with 2.5 points and Paladichuk and Thiessen recorded two points apiece.
