BILLINGS, Mont. – The No. 14 ranked Battlin' Bears defeated the Lights 78-74 to grab their first conference win of the 2018 season.
Rocky trailed behind the Lights for the majority of the second half, but was able to tie the game at 70 points with 3:20 left in the game. It was all Rocky after that as the Battlin' Bears were able to narrowly secure a 78-74 victory.
The Lights and the Battlin' Bears were nearly the same in regards to field goal percentage. Montana State-Northern shot 47.6% in comparison to Rocky's 46%.
Jared Samuelson scored 15 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.
Danny Betcher contributed an additional 13 points.
Satchel McDonald provided 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Adam Huse scored 25 points with three assists for the Lights.
Rocky will next play Providence in Billings at the Fortin Education Center. That action will start at 7:30 p.m.
