BILLINGS, Mont. – Rocky's women soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the Cascade Conference Championships after winning against Carroll College in penalty kicks.

The No. 7 seeded Battlin' Bears and No. 8 seeded Fighting Saints were unable to find the back of the net in regulation. As neither team was able to pull ahead in extra time, the Battlin' Bears took the win in the shootout, scoring 6-5 in penalty kicks.

Rocky lost five matches in a row in the middle of the season before recovering and finishing out the rest of the season with 7 straight wins.

Rocky's offense provided pressure with a 16-9 shot-advantage over Carroll.

Goalkeeper Maia Wetzel secured two saves with no goals allowed. 

The Battlin' Bears will play tomorrow in the semi-finals against No. 1 seeded Eastern Oregon at 5 p.m. MST/ 4 p.m. PST. in the Willamalane Sports Complex in Springfield, Ore.
