BILLINGS, Mont. – Playing in the 2018 Hampton Inn Green and Gold Classic, Rocky Mountain College soared past the Eagles 89-26.
Opening the game with an 8-2 run, the Battlin' Bears held a lead for the entire game.
Rocky's defense allowed only six points in the second half. The Battlin' Bears held a 18-1 total advantage in steals over the Eagle and scored 41 points off of turnovers. Both
Jared Samuelson and
Clayton Ladine pulled in four steals.
Austin Payne led the Battlin Bears with 16 points.
Lukas Vining and
Ragen Shein scored 12 points apiece. Samuelson and
Brandon The Boy each provided 10 points as well.
Shein led the team in rebounds with eight.
Rocky shot 53.8 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. On the free throw line, Rocky drained 83.3 percent.
In comparison, the Eagles shot 23.4 percent from the floor and 23.5 percent on three pointers. They attempted zero free throw attempts.
The King's University was led by Zachary Marchark who scored 13 points with six rebounds.
Rocky will continue playing in the 2018 Hampton Inn Green and Gold Classic tomorrow. The Battlin' Bears will play Dickinson State at 7:30 p.m.
