BILLINGS, Mont.– Rocky Mountain College edged out crosstown rival, MSU Billings, in a five set showdown.
The Battlin' Bears just barely lost the first set 24-26, but responded with a 25-22 set immediately following. The Yellowjackets took the third set 25-21. From there on out, it was Rocky all the way as the Battlin' Bears downed the fourth and fifth sets in 25-19 and 15-9.
The Battlin' Bears extended their record to 14-1 for the season and their win streak currently sits at 13.
Rocky was led by
Olivia L'Ami who orchestrated 15 kills.
Hailey Copinga knocked down another 12 kills on the night.
Daniella Russell added an additional 10 kills.
Throughout the match,
Natalie Hilderman supported the team offensively and defensively as she grabbed 33 assists and 21 digs.
Ruby Kallenbach had 25 digs of her own.
No. 6 ranked Rocky will next travel to Butte, Mont. to take on No. 20 ranked Montana Tech to stake their claim over the Frontier Conference. That match up will take place Saturday at 7 p.m.
