Fourth quarter heroics allow the Battlin' Bears to overcome Yotes in a 42-41 nail-biter

CALDWELL, Idaho. –  The Battlin' Bears (3-2,2-2 FC) scored twice in a fourth quarter comeback that allowed them to just rally past the win-less Yotes (0-5,0-4 FC).

College of Idaho scored first on the opening drive of the game off a nine yard toss from Darius Peterson to Connor Richardson. Rocky's Darneail Jenkins soon hauled in an eight yard pass from Jacob Bakken. College of Idaho's Peterson would rush it in at the 1 yard line, putting the Yotes up 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Max Gray would snatch a 45-yard touchdown off a Bakken pass to tie the game for the Battlin' Bears, but the Yotes almost immediately answered back with a 60 yard Peterson to Richardson touchdown. A missed extra point put the Yotes up at only six headed into the half.

The third quarter was dominated by three rushing touchdowns for the Yotes' quarterback, Peterson. Rocky managed to stay in the mix off of a Sam Sparks 14 yard rushing touchdown and a Bakken to Jenkins 42-yard touchdown.

The Battlin' Bears down 41-28 at the beginning of the fourth quarter needed a rally. Bakken delivered and found Lucas Overton for a 46-yard touchdown. The Battlin' Bears looking for a miracle would find one as Isaiah Schlegel would recover the following kickoff.
