LA GRANDE, Ore.– Rocky Mountain College was unable to find the back of the net in a 0-1 loss against Eastern Oregon Sunday morning.
The loss today means that the Battlin' Bears (4-4-1, 0-3-1 CCC) are still seeking their first conference win of the season. Rocky entered conference play with a record of 4-1, but have since dropped 3 games and a tie in the Cascade Conference.
Eastern Oregon's Natalie Mitchell scored the only goal of the game unassisted in the 25th minute. The Battlin' Bears proved unable to rally back as they were held scoreless throughout the game.
The Battlin' Bears could not find a spark on offense. The Mountaineers (8-1-1, 4-1-1 CCC) had a 14-6 shot advantage over the Battlin' Bears.
Rocky goalkeeper
Maia Wetzel managed to secure five saves with only one goal allowed. Eastern Oregon's goalkeeper, Cydni Cottrell, secured a single save with no goals allowed.
Rocky will return home to face rival Carroll College next Friday at 7:30 p.m. on Herb Klindt Field.
