BILLINGS, Mont., January 17, 2019 – The Battlin' Bears were defeated 69-50 Thursday night by the No. 4 ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints.
Down by just two at the half, Rocky struggled to find the basket in the second half. Rocky shot just 20 percent from the floor in the second period as Carroll quickly pulled away.
35 of Rocky's 50 points came from the bench.
Clayton Ladine led the way with a season-high 17 points.
Austin Payne scored seven points.
Rocky finished the night shooting 33.9 percent from the floor. The Battlin' Bears were good for 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Carroll College out-rebounded the Battlin' Bears 33-32 and held a 9-7 advantage in steals.
Four Saints scored in the double digits with Dane Warp leading the way with 22 points. Ife Kalejaiye contributed an additional 16 points.
Rocky will next play the Montana Tech Orediggers Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Fortin Education Center.
