BILLINGS, Mont. – Opening the game with a 9-2 run, the Battlin' Bears were able to use that momentum to race to a 95-76 victory over the Bulldogs Thursday night.
Rocky (14-7, 5-4 FC) held the lead the entire game. Behind
Clayton Ladine's five three pointers, the Battlin' Bears outscored the Bulldogs (7-13, 1-8 FC) 50-28 in the first period.
Ladine finished the night with 18 points.
Jared Samuelson scored 17 points while
Lukas Vining contributed 15 points. Both pulled in eight rebounds.
The Battlin' Bears shot 52.9 percent from the floor while draining 35.5 percent from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs held a 45.3 field goal percentage and shot 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Rocky held a 46-30 advantage in boards. Both teams grabbed 10 steals.
Montana Western's Cooper Kidgell scored 18 points. Cedric Boone scored 16 points with three assists and three steals.
The Battlin' Bears will next host the Lewis-Clark State Warriors at 5 p.m. on Jan. 26.
