BILLINGS, Mont. – The No. 22 ranked Battlin' Bears were defeated 58-50 by the No. 8 ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints.
The Battlin' Bears (11-4, 2-1 FC) kept pace with the Saints (12-3, 4-0 FC) for the first half of action. Only down by two points, it was a 15-2 run by the Saints at the end of the third period that proved the final blow for the Battlin' Bears. Rocky never recovered.
Rocky's
Alecia Chamberlin scored 15 points with four rebounds.
Brooke Jones contributed 12 points and three rebounds.
Kloie Thatcher provided five assists and five rebounds to lead the team in both categories.
The Battlin' Bears and Saints shot fairly equally on the night. Both teams held a 38.6 field goal percentage. Beyond the arc, Carroll was slightly more accurate as they drained 42.1 percent in comparison to Rocky's 35 percent.
Carroll College was led by Jaidyn Lyman who scored 14 points. Christine Denny provided nine points and nine rebounds for the Saints as well.
Rocky will next travel to Butte, Mont. to take on the Montana Tech Orediggers on Jan. 5. That game will start at 5:30 p.m.
