GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Playing in their season opener, Rocky Mountain College was unable to surpass the University of Calgary Dinos in an 88-70 loss Friday evening.

Up just 21-17 midway through the first period, the Dinos separated from the Battlin' Bears in the latter stage of the half.

Clayton Ladine recorded 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists to lead the Battlin' Bears in all three categories. Grant Wallace scored 12 points with four rebounds. Brandon The Boy had 11 points in addition to Kelson Eiselein's 10 points.

The Dinos were led by Brett Layton's 22 points and 11 rebounds. Max Eisele had a game-high five steals.

The Battlin' Bears shot a 36.1 field goal percentage while draining 31.4 percent from beyond the arc. The Dinos shot 47.7 percent from the floor, but drained just 6-of-31 on three point attempts.

This is the first time that the Battlin' Bears have dropped a season opener since the 2009-10 season. The Battlin' Bears will stay in Great Falls, Montana and look to bounce back with a game against University of Lethbridge tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
