BOZEMAN, Mont. – Rocky Mountain College was defeated 93-60 by NCAA Division I opponent Montana State University. The game counted as an exhibition for the Battlin' Bears.
The Bobcats jumped to an 11-0 lead following tip-off before the Battlin' Bears were able to finally put points on the board nearly four minutes into the game. Rocky never managed to make up the initial lost ground as Montana State held the lead the entirety of the game.
The Battlin' Bears shot 39.3 percent from the floor and landed 10-of-31 from deep while landing 2-of-5 on free throws. Montana State shot 52.2 percent including 46.2 percent on three pointers.
The Battlin' Bears were led by
Clayton Ladine's 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Sam Vining had 11 points while
Brandon The Boy scored an additional 10.
Christian Beeke led Rocky in boards with six.
Four Bobcats scored in the double digits. Jubrile Belo and Michael Paulo each scored 16 points while Amin Adamu and Harald Frey both recorded 12. Belo pulled in a game-high eight rebounds.
The Bobcats scored 33 points off of Rocky's 26 turnovers while outrebounding the Battlin' Bears 38-33.
The win counts as the first in Montana State's head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle's head coaching career.
The Battlin' Bears will next play Yellowstone Christian College on November 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shrine Auditorium in Billings, Montana.
