KIRKLAND, Wash. – Holding the Battlin' Bears scoreless, the Northwest University Eagles defeated No. 24 ranked Rocky Mountain College 2-0.
Despite holding a 24-10 shot advantage, Rocky (3-3, 2-1 CCC) was unable to get a ball past NU's (4-4, 1-2 CCC) goalkeeper Alexander Thiehofe on Friday. Thiehofe had 11 saves and no goals allowed for the Eagles.
Neither team scored in the first period. NU's first point came from Jordan Travis who found the back of the net in the 51st minute. Leon Bormann scored the Eagles' second goal in the 79th minute.
Rocky's
Kristofer Wennin had two goals allowed and three saves.
Rocky held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Rocky will next travel to Olympia, Washington to play The Evergreen State College on Sunday.
