Warriors' Yenor scores 37 as Lewis-Clark defeats Rocky 87-57

BILLINGS, Mont. – Rocky Mountain College could find no answers for Lewis-Clark State's Travis Yenor as the No. 13 ranked Warriors soared to a 87-57 victory over the Battlin' Bears. Shooting 61.9 percent from the field and land 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, Yenor finished the night with a career-high 37 points and eight rebounds.

The Battlin' Bears kept pace with the Warriors initially with neither team building more than a five point lead through the first ten minutes of play.  However, a pair of consecutive three pointers from Yenor set a 19-3 run into motion for the Warriors to close out the half. Down 46-29 entering the second period, Rocky never recovered and trailed by double digits for the rest of the way.

Rocky was led by the Vining brothers. Lukas Vining had a team-high 13 points while Sam Vining scored 11 points with a team-high six boards. The pair of Darius Henderson and Brandon The Boy each scored nine points.

Beyond Yenor's career night, Damek Mitchell, the Frontier Conference's leading scorer, had 18 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for the Warriors. Khalil Stevenson and Trystan Bradley each scored nine points.

Shooting 48 percent on three pointers, the Warriors finished with 12 buckets from beyond the arc and posted 50 percent from the field. In comparison, Rocky shot 34.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from deep.

Lewis-Clark held a 44-29 edge in boards.

The Battlin' Bears will play their first game in the Fortin Education Center this season on Jan. 15 against Carroll College.
