RED LODGE, Mont. – Splitting a pair of giant slalom races with Montana State University at the Stano Cup, Rocky Mountain College's women's ski racing team was led by Sydney Weaver and Ester Jakobsson.
The Battlin' Bears on Friday were led by
Sydney Weaver who took home an individual victory on Friday. Racing down the slopes in 50.62 and 55.00, the fastest results on both runs, Weaver took first on a combined time of 1:45.62.
The only other Battlin' Bear to finish both of her runs was
Ester Jakobsson who took fifth on a total time of 1:49.66. As a result, the Battlin' Bears finished in second as a team with a score of 353.3 behind Montana State's 351.55 on Friday.
On Saturday, Jakobsson improved to second place with runs of 48.92 and 51.11 for a combined time of 1:40.03. Weaver took fourth on a total time of 1:42.26.
Jessica Liu took tenth with a combined time of 1:46.41 while
Carina Bracy finished in 11th on a time of 1:47.41.
Larissa Saarel finished in 23rd with a time of 1:52.89.
The women bounced back and placed in first with a score of 308.86 ahead of Montana State's 335.16.
The Battlin' Bears will continue the Stano Cup tomorrow with a slalom race at Red Lodge Mountain in Red Lodge, Mont.
