BILLINGS, Mont. - Having just defeated regional rival Dickinson State 71-65, Rocky Mountain College will look to fend off a Montana Tech Oredigger team seeking their first conference win this season on Thursday.
The Battlin' Bears are led by
Clayton Ladine. In addition to averaging 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, Ladine dishes out 6.182 assists per game which ranks No. 5 in the nation.
Darius Henderson is averaging a team-high 13 points per game while
Grant Wallace averages 10.4 points and a team-high 5.8 boards.
Brandon The Boy is shooting 43.8 percent from beyond the arc this season and averaging 12.5 points per game.
Montana Tech's Taylor England was just named the NAIA's National Men's Basketball Division 1 National Player of the Week after recording a pair of double doubles last week and shooting 88.5 percent from the floor. England is averaging 14.6 points and a team-high 8.5 rebounds this year. The Orediggers' leading scorer is Sindou Diallo whose 20.5 points per game ranks No. 10 in the nation.
The Battlin' Bears will look to avenge a 70-59 loss to Montana Tech in the opening round of the Frontier Conference Tournament last season. It was the first win for Montana Tech against Rocky in Billings since Jan. 21, 2006. It also counted as the first postseason win since 1999 for the Orediggers.
