BILLINGS, Mont. – Despite shooting 54.5 percent from the floor, Rocky Mountain College was unable to hold back the Montana Western Bulldogs in a 81-74 loss on Thursday night.
The Battlin' Bears landed 30-of-55 from the field and hit 33.3 percent of their three point attempts in the loss. In comparison, the Bulldogs hit 46 percent from the field and 28.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Rocky led by as much as 12 points in the second half, but Montana Western found momentum, shooting 60 percent in the period, to claim the lead late. Rocky was unable to recover as the team missed all of their 3-point attempts in the second period.
Rocky held a 36-31 edge in boards, but turned the ball over 19 times.
Grant Wallace led the Battlin' Bears with a team-high 24 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Clayton Ladine had 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists while
Darius Henderson scored 12 points.
Sam Vining had 11 points and six assists.
The Bulldogs' Cedric Boone had 21 points while Max Clark scored 17. Derrek Durocher had 15 points while Connor Burkhart posted 12 points and a team-high seven boards.
The Battlin' Bears will next play Yellowstone Christian College in the Fortin Education Center on Feb. 14.
