CALDWELL, Idaho, November 27, 2021- The Battlin' Bears were led on offense by three main scorers again, but the real difference in the contest was points off turnovers, Rocky had 20 and Eastern Oregon had 5. Rocky won 53 to 49, to go 2-0 on the weekend and win the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Classic.
The Battlin' Bears were led by N' Dea Flye with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kloie Thatcher had 16 points and four assists. Mackenzie Dethman added 14 points and two blocks.
Eastern Oregon University was led by Taylor Stricklin with 15 points and eight rebounds. Sailor Liefke added 11 points and two rebounds.
Rocky took care of the ball better than the Mountaneers with 15 turnovers to EOU's 25. Rocky turned those turnovers into points out scoring EOU 20 to 5 off turnovers. Rocky fed the ball inside all game and outscored Eastern Oregon 36 to 22 in the paint.
The Rocky women travel to Great Falls, Montana to play the Argos of the University of Providence at 5 p.m. on December 2.
