MESA, Ariz., December 18, 2021- The Battlin' Bears were aggressive all game, and defeated Benedictine University at Mesa 68 to 44. The Battlin' Bears women are off to a hot start this season, with a record of 9-1, 2-0.
The Battlin' Bears were led by Dominique Stephens with a game high and personal high for the season, 20 points, four rebounds, and a block. Shauna Bribiescas added 16 points and two rebounds. Kloie Thatcher added 10 points, a steal, and two assists. The Battlin' Bears shot 42.9 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from the arc, and 50 percent from the line.
Benedictine University was led by Hailey Walker with 11 points and three steals. Sarah Kruthaupt added eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Benedictine shot 43.9 percent from the field,58.3 percent from the arc, and 50 percent from the line.
Rocky outrebounded Benedictine 38 to 22. Rocky had 16 points off turnovers to Benedictine's six.
The Rocky women continue to compete in the Phoenix area to take part in the Frontier Conference Challenge. The Battlin' Bears take on Vanguard University Monday at 10 a.m. and Midamerica Nazarene Wednesday at 12 p.m.
