No.14 Rocky Football Falls to Carroll College

HELENA, Mont., Oct 22, 2022- Battlin' Bears football fell to Carroll College 24-0 Saturday in Helena.

The Battlin' Bears offense struggled on a cold and rainy day in Helena, only totaling 127 yards on the day with three turnovers. 

Things remained scoreless until late into the second quarter, when Jack Prka rushed it in from eight yards out to give Carroll College the lead 7-0. An interception on the following drive set the Fighting Saints up for a six yard touchdown pass from Prka to Jaden Harrison to give Carroll a 14-0 lead going into halftime. 

A muffed punt by Rocky set Carroll up deep in Rocky territory midway through the third quarter, eventually leading to a Jack Prka two yard rushing touchdown. Carroll's final score would be a field goal set up by a Battlin' Bears interception deep in their own territory to give Carroll a 24-0 lead, which would end up the final score. 

"Tough one today," Coach Chris Stutzriem said. "I have to do a better job of preparing this team on and off the field. Our kids played hard and had a great week of practice. I didn't do a good job as the Head Coach today and I have to be better for these coaches and players and I will be."

The Battlin' Bears (5-2) will host No. 24 Montana Tech next Saturday at Herb Klindt Field.
