Rocky Soccer Falls in Both Matches in Caldwell

CALDWELL, Idaho. Oct 7, 2022- Rocky Mountain Soccer was defeated in both their matches against College of Idaho. Rocky women fell to the No. 22 ranked Yotes 0-2 and the men losing 1-2.  

Two first half goals by College of Idaho was all they would need to take the victory over Rocky. The Battlin' Bears were only able to get three shots on goal in the match, two of which were by Halle Labert. Mila Allison tallied five saves in the loss. 

On the men's side, the Yotes scored early on a goal by Jorge Fernandez in the 12th minute of the match to give College of Idaho a 1-0 lead. An important insurance score would come on a goal by Eric Hornung in the 73rd minute giving College of Idaho a 2-0 lead. Igor Soares would find the back of the net in the 84th minute to set Rocky up within striking distance. An opportunity found itself as Niklas Kneller had a header on goal only a minute later, but his shot hit the post and the Rocky men dropped their third straight match. 

The Battlin' Bears will travel to Eastern Oregon Saturday to take on the Mountaineers.
