BILLINGS, Mont., Sept. 24, 2022- Battlin' Bears football showed dominance from start to finish, defeating Montana State University-Northern 56-0.

George Tribble Jr. took advantage of his first start at quarterback for Rocky and took the game over in the first half. Tribble began the scoring by finding Trae Henry for a 28 yard touchdown to give Rocky a 7-0 lead. An 11 yard touchdown pass to Joseph Dwyer, followed by a 43 yard touchdown pass to Trae Henry would open Rocky's lead up to 21-0 in the second quarter. Tribble would add one more passing touchdown, finding DeNiro Killian Jr. for a 12 yard touchdown pass to give Rocky a 28-0 lead with 2:30 left in the second quarter. Rocky's special teams joined in on the fun on the following possession, as Kaysan Barnett took a punt 70 yards for a touchdown, to open the lead up to 35-0 going into halftime.  Tribble went 15-22 for 206 yards and four touchdowns in the first half alone.

Rocky's offense shifted to dominating time of possession through the run game in the second half. Zaire Wilcox punched a one yard touchdown run in to cap off a 10 play, 75 yard drive in the third quarter to push the lead to 42-0. On the following possession, Cade Reynolds would scoop up a Northern fumble and run it 30 yards for a touchdown to give the Battlin' Bears a 49 point lead. Rocky would score once more, as Ben Rooney would run it in from three yards out to cap off a nine minute, 13 play drive in the fourth quarter to give Rocky a 56-0 lead.

The Battlin' Bears would end with 496 total yards of offense, while holding Northern to only 20 total yards of offense, including zero rushing yards. The Battlin' Bears totalled 30 first downs, while holding Northern to only three.

Zaire Wilcox would end with 18 rushing attempts for 94 yards and a touchdown, Ben Rooney added eight attempts for 55 yards and a touchdown, and Cade Lambert ran seven times for 42 yards. Trae Henry led receivers with three catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns, DeNiro Killian Jr. had four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown, and Joseph Dwyer hauled in three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown.

Austin Drake was a perfect 8-8 on extra point attempts.

Kyle Frazier led the Rocky defense with 5 total tackles, Ethan Hurst had 1.5 sacks, and TerRyck Pennington had a sack and a forced fumble.

"I thought our guys had a great week of practice" Coach Chris Stutzriem said. "I loved how our defense came out right away and shut them down. I thought our offense did a great job winning the line of scrimmage and getting our skill guys the ball in space and those guys made great plays. Special teams were great today, a punt return for a TD, kickoff team tackling them deep all day, and Austin Drake going 8-8 on extra points. I'm very happy with our overall performance and to get a lot of backups in the game is great to get those guys some quality reps."

The Battlin' Bears (3-1) will travel to Dillon next weekend to take on #19 Montana Western.
