SIOUX CITY, IOWA, Sept. 3, 2022- Rocky Mountain College Volleyball continued their play in the Labor Day Classic, losing to No. 6 Jamestown 0-3 and No. 2 Midland University 1-3.
The Battlin' Bears took on No. 6 University of Jamestown Saturday morning. The Battlin' Bears were outmatched from start to finish by the Jimmies (13-25, 18-25, 18-25). Rocky was led by 9 kills from
Makenna Bushman and 22 digs from
Ayla Embry. The Jimmies were led by 12 kills each from both Anna Holen and Logan Sherman.
The Battlin' Bears put on a better match against No. 2 Midland University, but fell to the Warriors 1-3 (21-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-13). This is the second matchup against Midland University for the Battlin' Bears, as they were swept 0-3 in the first match of the season by the Warriors.
Rhiannon Nez continued her impressive run during the tournament, leading Rocky with 11 kills, while
Blythe Sealey picked up 33 assists in the loss. The Warriors were led by 14 kills from reigning National Player of the Week Taliyah Flores.
The Battlin' Bears (4-5) will resume play next Friday as they travel to Wisconsin to participate in the Viterbo Tournament.
