Rocky Women’s Soccer Falls to Evergreen State College 2-1

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears were unable to overcome two first half goals from the Geoducks, losing 2-1 at home. 

Fouls in or around the penalty box hurt the Battlin' Bears for the second consecutive match, as the Geoducks' Peyton Rhyne cashed in on a penalty kick in the 39th minute, followed by Eden Comstock rocketing a free kick into the goal right before halftime to give Evergreen State College a 2-0 lead going into the break. 

Rocky had plenty of scoring opportunities, seemingly none of them would find the right bounce into the net. Hannah Lane found open space late in the match, placing a beautiful crossing pass to teammate Mandi Dallimore, who scored her second goal of the season so far. The Battlin' Bears were unable to find another offensive push in the final five minutes, as they dropped their second consecutive match at home. 

Emma Lensing led the way with four shots on goal on the day, as the Battlin' Bears outshot the Geoducks 19-5 in the loss. 

The Battlin' Bears (2-8-1, 1-6-1 conf.) will travel to Oregon to face Multnomah University and Warner Pacific University next Friday and Sunday.
