Rocky Volleyball Defeats MSU-Northern in Four Sets

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Volleyball remains unbeaten at home this season, taking down the Skylights in four sets Saturday evening.  

Freshman Kaitlyn Wood was the impact player in the first set, putting down the first and last points of the set via kill, while also going on an individual 3-0 run in the midst of a 25-16 first set victory. The Battlin' Bears hit .350 as a team in the first set, while Makenna Bushman and Madeline Gilder each had service aces. 

Nine attack errors in the second set would hurt the Battlin' Bears, as the Skylights would take back the momentum. Despite a 24-17 MSU-Northern lead, the Battlin' Bears would rally back on a 5-0 run, but Macee Murphy would eventually draw the kill to give the Skylights a second set victory. 

It would be all Battlin' Bears for the remainder of the match however, as Rocky would hit .268 in the third set and .281 in the fourth set to cruise to a home victory on Homecoming weekend.

The Battlin' Bears (14-6, 3-2 conf.) will take a pause on Frontier Conference play, as they will travel to La Crosse, Wisconsin to play in the Viterbo Tournament next Friday and Saturday.
