Rocky Women’s Soccer Draws with Southern Oregon 1-1

ASHLAND, Ore.- Tara Appleby knocked in her first goal of the season by way of penalty kick to lead the Battlin' Bears to a draw with Southern Oregon. 

Southern Oregon outshot the Battlin' Bears 10-5 in the first half, which led to Malaika Quigley finding the net for the Raiders as they held a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break. 

Tara Appleby brought the game back to a draw, capitalizing on a penalty kick opportunity in the 56th minute to bring the match to a 1-1 draw, which would hold through the final. 

Hannah Trumbull drew the start in goal and played the full 90 minutes, tallying six saves, the most by a Rocky goalkeeper this season. The Battlin' Bears were outshot 21-11 in the tie. 

The Battlin' Bears (2-6-1, 1-4-1 conf.) will return home to host Northwest University on Friday and Evergreen State College on Sunday.
