GAME NOTES: Rocky Volleyball Heads to San Marcos, California for an Opening Round Matchup with the University of Saint Katherine

SAN MARCOS, Calif.- The Battlin' Bears will have a tough contest against #17 ranked University of Saint Katherine on Saturday for a trip to Sioux City, Iowa.

Quick Notes

- This is the first-ever matchup between the Battlin' Bears and the Firestorm of the University of Saint Katherine. 
- Saint Katherine finished their season 29-3, going undefeated in conference play, and only lost one home game throughout the season, that loss being in the Cal Pac Championship match. 
- The Battlin' Bears won their opening-round matchup on the road last season, defeating #18 Indiana Wesleyan in three sets.

- Bella Bryan earned 2nd Team All-Conference, as her 379 total kills ranked second in the conference this season. 
- The Rocky offense will have to hit around Cal Pac Player of the Year Alexcis Morris, who averages 1.22 blocks per set, 13th most in the NAIA.

Defensive Notes

- Brooke Ark was named the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year, as her 853 digs this season rank second in the NAIA. 
- Rhiannon Nez earned 1st Team All-Conference honors, as her 1.17 blocks per set led the Frontier Conference. 
- St. Katherine's offense ranks eighth in the NAIA this season, hitting .256 as a team.
