Rocky Volleyball Falls to #10 Montana Tech in Five Sets; Enters Conference Tournament as the Third Seed

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears battled back and forth with the Orediggers Sunday afternoon, but 10th ranked Montana Tech came out on top in a five set slugfest.

The first set went back and forth, as Madeline Gilder spiked a service ace to give Rocky a 21-20 lead. The Orediggers went on a 5-2 run to hold a 24-22 lead, but Rocky responded with a run of their own, coming back to take the first set 26-24.

A quick run to begin the fourth set defined the set for the Battlin' Bears, as Rocky jumped out to a 12-4 lead. Their lead would never be in question, as they cruised to a 25-19 fourth set victory to lead the match to a fifth set.

Both teams traded points to start, but the Orediggers rattled off a 6-0 run to take an 11- 6 lead, which proved to be too much to overcome for the Battlin' Bears.
