Three Rocky Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes Earn All-Frontier Conference Recognition

New Zealand duo Robinson and Stephens earn First Team All-Conference recognition.

WHITEFISH, Mont.- The Frontier Conference announced its 2022-23 All-Conference Men's Basketball Teams, in which three Battlin' Bears were recognized. The teams are chosen in voting by the league's coaches.

Kael Robinson, a sophomore guard from Hamilton, New Zealand, was named First Team All-Conference. Robinson averaged 11.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 41% from the field. Robinson's 11.9 points per game was 10th most in the Frontier Conference. Robinson was the 2021-22 Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year last season.

Maxim Stephens, a junior forward from Hamilton, New Zealand, was named First Team All-Conference. Stephens was the Battlin' Bears leading scorer, averaging 13.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, including 1.8 offensive rebounds, 1.5 assists and one block per game, while shooting 43% from the field and 78% from the free throw line. Stephens led the Frontier Conference in free throw attempts with 132 and was second in made free throws with 102. Stephens' 13.6 points per game was sixth most in the conference, while his 6.4 rebounds per game was fifth most in the conference. Stephens was a 2020-21 All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Beau Santistevan, a senior forward from Big Fork, Montana, was Rocky Men's Basketball's Champion of Character nominee. The Champions of Character award is given to a student athlete who best exemplifies the NAIA's core values, integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Santistevan appeared in 28 of 29 games this season, averaging 9.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 51% from the field and 44% from three point range.
