BILLINGS, Mont.- Three goals in the first 30 minutes of play was enough for the Battlin' Bears to win their home opener against Ave Maria 3-0 on Sunday.

Offensive output came early and often for the Rocky men as Angel Mange found Tor Swann on a breakaway for a goal in the eighth minute, giving the Battlin' Bears an early 1-0 lead.

Just three minutes later, Angel Mange was the recipient of a great pass, this time from Maddox Gallia, who found Mange on a cross inside the box as the Battlin' Bears earned their second goal in the first 12 minutes of play.

A free kick from Lorenzo Klamler in the 26th minute turned into a costly mistake for the Gyrenes, as a misplaced clear on a crossing pass resulted in an own goal to give the Battlin' Bears a 3-0 lead, one they would hold throughout the remainder of the game.

The Battlin' Bears dominated possession throughout, out shooting Ave Maria 26-7 (10-2 on goal), with all seven of the Gyrenes shots coming in the second half.

Rocky goalie Stefan Schenk saved both goals he faced in the victory.

The Battlin' Bears (1-0) will travel to Florida next weekend as they take on #9 Keiser University on September 1st and Webber International on September 3rd.
