Rocky Women’s Soccer Defeats Providence 4-1 on Wendy’s Field Friday Afternoon

BILLINGS, Mont.- Four first half goals pushed the Rocky women over Providence 4-1 to begin their conference schedule. 

Emma Lensing got Rocky in the score column just four minutes in, as her teammate Sana Bath gave her a pass that left her one on one with the keeper, rifling in a shot to the right corner of the goal to go up 1-0 early. 

Mila Allison was the next Battlin' Bear to get on the board, as Halle Labert lobbed a corner kick into the box, where Allison got her first shot off, initially saved by the Argos, but followed her first attempt and got her goal on the second attempt, bringing the score to 2-0. 

Providence would respond just two minutes later, when Tina Serwaa Ofori broke away and fired a shot off a Rocky defender's leg into the net for the Argo's first and only goal of the game. 

Rocky's third goal came from a Mya Maack corner kick that was tipped by Mila Allison and eventually finished by Sana Bath to extend the lead to 3-1. 

Mya Maack would be the fourth goal scorer in the game, as Hannah Lane placed a great pass to Maack into the box for her second goal of the season. 

The Battlin' Bears outshot the Argos 29-8 in the victory, while the Battlin' Bears cycled in 19 different players into the game in the winning effort. 

The Battlin' Bears (2-2, 1-0 conf.) will host Carroll College on Sunday afternoon on Wendy's Field at 3:30pm.
