Rocky Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 24 Southern Oregon 2-1

BILLINGS, Mont.- Southern Oregon secured the lone goal in the second half to hand the Battlin' Bears a loss at home on Friday. 

How it Happened
Southern Oregon was the first to strike on Saturday. Following an excellent save by Stefan Schenk, Franco Fasoli followed up on the deflection for a long goal in the 19th minute to give the Raiders an early 1-0 lead. 

The Battlin' Bears would respond before the end of the half, as Luke Tooze sent a free kick towards the back of the box, finding the head of Espoir Mayele, who knocked his third goal of the season to tie things up at 1-1 going into halftime. 

The Raiders would secure the lone goal in the second half on another follow-up from a Stefan Schenk save, as Evan Norconk made an acrobatic play to sneak a shot past the Rocky defense for the game-sealing goal in the 64th minute. 

The Battlin' Bears outshot Southern Oregon 15-10 in the loss on Friday. Mans Orwen led the match with four total shots, while Henry Chalkley and Espoir Mayele had three a piece. 

Casey Ruvolo totaled four saves in the win for the Raiders.
