Mange’s Hat Trick Leads Rocky Men’s Soccer to Wild 5-4 Victory Over Evergreen State College

OLYMPIA, Wash.- Angel Mange's third goal of the afternoon was a game-winner in the 88th minute to secure a 5-4 victory on the road.

How it Happened

The Geoducks got on the board first, as Emmanuel Nicasio recorded a goal in the 19th minute.

The early lead would last just two minutes of game time, as a Henry Chalkley corner kick found the head of Ryan Daniel, who connected with the net to tie the match at 1-1.

Scoring came in flurries, as Evergreen State responded under a minute later with Nicasio finding his way into the box and sneaking a pass past Rocky's defense to take the lead back.

Angel Mange would record his first goal of the afternoon, as Raul Villar would send a crossing pass across the box to set Mange up for his first goal of the season, bringing the match tied 2-2 going into halftime.

Evergreen would take the lead again in the 69th minute, as Joshua Coetzee would put a header into the goal.

Rocky would again have their response, as Angel Mange scored his second goal of the afternoon, this time set up by a pass from Igor Soares to tie the match at 3-3. Espoir Mayele would join in on the scoring party, as he sent a pass in from the edge of the box following a rebound that gave the Battlin' Bears their first lead of the afternoon.

The Geoducks would not go down quietly, as Emmanuel Nicasio broke loose for his third goal of the match to tie the match at 4-4 with just five minutes remaining in the match.

Angel Mange would have the final say in a wild match in Washington, as Lorenzo Klamler dropped in a well-placed corner kick that Mange capitalized with a header to secure the game-winning goal in the 88th minute.

The Battlin' Bears outshot the Geoducks 22-9, putting ten shots on goal to Evergreen's five. In the winning effort, Angel Mange and Espoir Mayele totaled five shots a piece. Friday's scoring flurry was the first multi-goal game of his career.
