Rocky Men’s Soccer Draws 1-1 Against Northwest University

KIRKLAND, Wash.- The Battlin' Bears held the lead for most of the match against Northwest University, but the Eagles scored late to make the final 1-1 on Sunday. 

How it Happened
Freshman Paul Randello was the man to get the Battlin' Bears into the score column, as he took a long cross-field pass from Igor Soares past an Eagle defender and into the corner of the net in the 18th minute to give Rocky a 1-0 lead. The goal was Randello's second of the season. 

The score remained the same until late into the second half, as Northwest University would have their answer late. The Eagles tossed a throw-in deep into the box, where they could capitalize on a Battlin' Bear mistake, as the attempted clearance found the foot of Damian Santos, who rocketed in a shot for Northwest University to tie the match at 1-1. 

Shot attempts were even on the day, with both teams totaling 13. Freshman Anton Wilms drew the start in goal, saving four shots on the afternoon. Igor Soares tallied five shots on the day, while Paul Randello put all three of his shot attempts on goal on Sunday. 

Eagles' goalkeeper Michael Kot tallied five shots on the afternoon.
