Rocky Women’s Soccer Shuts Down Geoducks in 1-0 Victory

OLYMPIA, Wash.- Rocky's stout defense propelled them to their fourth consecutive victory, defeating Evergreen State College 1-0 on the road Friday.

How it Happened

The Battlin' Bear defense was the star of the show in Friday's win, holding Evergreen State College to just one shot in each half, with no shots on goal throughout the match.

Emma Lensing scored the only goal Rocky needed with a tap-in goal in the 33rd minute, set up by a nice pass from Mya Maack. Rocky's offense was active throughout, controlling possession and giving themselves ample opportunity to score. They had 14 shots total, six of which were on goal.

Friday's goal marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Rocky women following a 0-2-1 start to the conference schedule. The win against the Geoducks moves the Battlin' Bears to 6-3-1 on the season and fifth overall in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings. Amid their four-game win streak, Rocky has three shutouts.

Lensing's goal was the sixth of the season, as the junior led the game with four shots and two on goal. Mila Allison totaled three shots on the afternoon as well. Goalie Hannah Trumbull did not face a shot in the afternoon, which is a credit to the defensive front for the Battlin' Bears.
