Rocky Women’s Soccer Cruises to 7-3 Victory Over Warner Pacific

BILLINGS, Wash.- The Battlin' Bears outshot the Knights 28-8 and scored the most goals in a game since 2019 in their 7-3 victory on Friday.

How it Happened

The Rocky women rattled off five unanswered goals in the first half to jump to a huge lead.

Freshman Georgia Dean was the first to strike, after Sana Bath set Dean up just outside the box, she fired a shot that knuckled past the Knights' keeper and into the net in the 14th minute.

Dean would get her first of two assists eight minutes later, sending Charlize Davis down the side of the field, leaving Davis to burn a Warner Pacific's defender and finishing a tap-in goal.

Emma Lensing got in on the scoring fun after a great pass from Sana Bath left Lensing alone with a one-on-one with the keeper, rocketing a shot into the left corner of the net for her first goal of the afternoon.

Just seconds after checking into the match, freshman Olivia Goddard found the net for the first collegiate goal of her career, following a great set-up from Mya Maack

Goddard would ultimately set up Rocky's fifth goal of the first half, as after the Knights keeper deflected her shot, Emma Lensing followed through with a header to tap in the goal, capping off a run of three goals in just eight minutes of game time.

Warner Pacific responded before the end of the first half, thanks to a goal from Madisen Kramer, but the score remained 5-1 going into the break.

Piper Adams-Jones would knock in her first career goal to open up the second half after a corner kick from Charlize Davis snuck through the pack of players, leaving Adams-Jones to tap in a shot standing next to the post.

The Knights would find momentum just a couple of minutes later, scoring twice in the span of three minutes to narrow the deficit to three.

Emma Lesning would put the bow on top of a great afternoon for the Battlin' Bears, as Georgia Dean set Lensing up fading to the left of the goal before the junior from Billings would sneak a shot in between the goalkeeper and the post to give Rocky their seventh score of the afternoon and the victory at home.

Overall, the Battlin' Bears outshot the Knights 28-8, putting 17 of their shots on goal. Six of Rocky's seven goals were assisted on. Ten different Battlin' Bears tallied shot attempts in the victory.

Warner Pacific tallied goals from Kiya Gramps, Madisen Kramer, and Eileen Reyna in the defeat.
