Rocky Women’s Soccer Secures Dramatic Overtime Victory Over Carroll College 1-0

MEDFORD, Ore.- Emma Lensing found the net in the second overtime period to send the Battlin' Bears to the CCC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2019. 

The match was scoreless through the first 106 minutes of action, with the shot total slightly favoring Carroll College. Both teams attempted eight shots in the second half, with two on goal for each side. 

Entering the overtime periods, the Battlin' Bear defense stepped up to the task, allowing only one shot attempt total through 16 extra minutes of play. 

It would finally be Rocky who would break through. After Rocky had an excellent scoring opportunity saved and a follow-up bounce off the post, Charlize Davis found her way into the penalty box a few minutes later. She sent a pass through the defense to the opposite side of the goal, finding the feet of Emma Lensing, who secured the game-winning goal to give the Battlin' Bears a CCC Quarterfinals victory. 

Hannah Trumbull was excellent in goal on the afternoon, saving all four shots she faced and guiding a lockdown Rocky defense in front of her.

The Battlin' Bears (9-5-2) will advance to the CCC Championship Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday, November 12th, when they will face the top-seeded College of Idaho Yotes.
