Game Notes

On the Road
The Battlin' Bears will play three games away from home this weekend after beginning their season with two home matchups. In 2023-24, the Rocky men were 4-3 in neutral site games and 4-6 in road games.

Key Defense
The Battlin' Bears averaged 12.0 steals per game and outrebounded their opponents by 8.5 per game through their first two games. Seven different Rocky players averaged one or more steals per game, while five Battlin' Bears averaged 3.5 or more rebounds per game.

Scouting the Yellowjackets
MSU Billings has begun their season 4-1, playing all five games to open their season at home in Alterowitz Gym. Through five games, former Battlin' Bear Kael Robinson has been the leading scorer for the Yellowjackets, scoring 13.4 points per game. MSUB has leaned on a small-ball lineup, as 6-5 guard Brendon Johnson has been the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.0 per game. The Rocky men swept the season series with MSUB in 2023-24, with both games coming down to free throws in the final seconds to decide the winner.

Scouting the Red Hawks
Benedictine-Mesa has kicked off its season with a 4-0 start; however, Friday's matchup will be its first game against an NAIA opponent this season. The Red Hawk offense has been explosive to start, averaging 112.8 points per game on 58.1% shooting from the field after its first four games, with five players averaging double-figures.

Scouting the Eagles
Northwest Indian College enters the weekend after dropping all three of its NCAA DI Big Sky Conference matchups. The Eagles were held to an average of 38 points per game over those three matchups. This is the first time they will face the Battlin' Bears.
