Game Notes

Finish Strong
The Battlin' Bears wrap up their 2024 season on the road with a conference matchup against MSU Northern.

Beat The Lights
The Battlin' Bears have beaten the Lights 18 straight times since the 2014 season. In their first matchup of the 2024 season, Rocky defeated Northern 27-12 on their home turf earlier this season, led by a strong rushing attack that totaled 216 yards on the ground.

Back in the Win Column
The Battlin' Bears capped their senior day on Saturday with a 49-24 victory over Arizona Christian. The Rocky defense forced four turnovers in the fourth quarter, and the offense capitalized with 28 points in the fourth quarter alone. Quarterback Graedyn Buell returned under center after missing three games, totaling six touchdowns on the afternoon.

Win All Three Phases
The Battlin' Bears have boasted a top special teams unit through the second half of the season, ranking first in average punt return yardage and second in kick return yardage. Kaysan Barnett displayed this advantage in Rocky's win over ACU, breaking off a 64-yard punt return to set the Battlin' Bears up with a go-ahead score before halftime.

Scouting the Lights
MSU-Northern will seek their first victory of the 2024 season on Saturday as they celebrate senior day on their home turf to close out the campaign. MSU Northern has been an improved offensive unit from last season, as their option-heavy attack totals an average of 129 yards of rushing per game. Mason Dionne is the fourth-leading rusher in the Frontier Conference this season, averaging 88.4 yards per game. Defensively, Lucas Thacker is the fourth leading tackler in the conference, averaging 8.3 tackles per game from his linebacker position.
