Youth Shines in Lopsided Victory for Rocky Men’s Basketball

GREAT FALLS, Mont.- Drew Bowman made his collegiate debut with a 21-point, five-rebound showcase as the Battlin' Bears cruised to a 113-56 win over Northwest Indian College.  

How it Happened

The Rocky men scored 14 three-pointers and shot 54.3% from the field amid a 113 offensive showcase. It was the most points the Battlin' Bears have scored since a 120-84 victory over The King's University in October of 2022. 

Twelve different Battlin' Bears entered the game on Saturday, all scoring four or more points, including four Rocky players scoring double figures. 

Freshman Drew Bowman showcased his shooting ability in his collegiate debut, scoring 21 points on eight-of-11 shooting from the field and five made three-pointers. He also grabbed five rebounds, three offensive, and two steals. 

Mekhi Jourdan led the second unit from the point guard position, dishing a career-high nine assists and six rebounds on the afternoon. 

Omari Nesbit continued a hot streak offensively off the bench for the Battlin' Bears, scoring 17 points on seven-of-nine shooting in just 16 minutes. 

Carter McCoy made all five shots attempted in just 15 minutes played, totaling 14 points. 

Colton Spencer grabbed nine rebounds in his 19 minutes on the court and dished four assists. 

Northwest Indian College was led by 11 points and five rebounds from Mycole Rodriguez.

The Battlin' Bears (3-1) secured their second straight victory and will take a week off before traveling to Dickinson, North Dakota, over Thanksgiving weekend to compete in the Sam Milanovic Classic.
