Team Effort Highlights Rocky’s Victory Over Dickinson State in the Sam Milanovich Classic

DICKINSON, N.D.- Jaylon Lee, Royce Robinson, and Carter McCoy all tallied double-doubles as a second-half surge led the Rocky men to a victory over Dickinson State.

How it Happened

Both teams created little separation in the first half, as it was back-and-forth throughout. Royce Robinson sank a three-pointer just after the 13-minute mark in the first half to give Rocky their largest lead of the half at six. With both teams matching each other's production, a short 7-2 run by the Blue Hawks was enough to give them a two-point lead going into the halftime break.

The pair of past and future Frontier Conference foes continued to match each other's production for the first 12 minutes of the second half. The difference in the game was sparked by an offensive rebound and put back by Carter McCoy that tied the game at 61-61 with 7:30 remaining. McCoy's layup would begin a clinching 20-4 run, capped off with back-to-back three-pointers from Omari Nesbit that extended the Rocky lead to 12 points. While Dickinson would gather some momentum to conclude the contest, the Battlin' Bears held enough of a lead to fend off the Blue Hawks and secure the victory in Dickinson.
