Rocky Falls Late to Bushnell 2-1; Enters CCC Tournament as the Sixth Seed

EUGENE, Ore.- A costly mistake led to Bushnell's game-winning goal in the final minute, as the Battlin' Bears will enter the CCC tournament as a sixth seed.

How it Happened

Bushnell entered the score column early, as Ian Palma drilled a free kick into the top left corner of the net, and the Beacons led throughout the remainder of the first half.

The Battlin' Bears would eventually have their response in the second half, as Rhys Moxon would send a deep pass into Rory O'Donnell, who found Espoir Mayele streaking through the box, and Mayele tapped a shot past the keeper to tie the match at 1-1 in the 63rd minute.

The match was heading towards a 1-1 draw into the final minute when Bushnell was able to intercept a pass headed back to the keeper, finishing the open net goal to swipe away a victory from the Battlin' Bears to conclude the regular season.

Bushnell outshot Rocky overall in the match, 14-11, putting five of their shots on goal to Rocky's three. Espoir Mayele accounted for two of Rocky's shots on goal.

Stefan Schenk totaled three saves in the defeat.
