Kvinlog Defends Her National Title to Lead Rocky Ski to the Third National Title on Day Two at USCSA Nationals

LAKE PLACID, N.Y.- Synne Kvinlog defended her Skier Cross title as she led the Battlin' Bears to their third straight Skier Cross National Championship. 

Men's Giant Slalom

The Men's Giant Slalom was shortened to a one-run competition, due to weather conditions that caused poor course conditions and concerns for visibility and safety. 

Fredrik Straume earned his first career All-American honor after a second-place finish with a time of 1:09.44. William Mjelde also grabbed an All-American finish, placing 11th overall with a time of 1:13.92. Adam Wrenkler finished 16th with a time of 1:14.72, Mads Fondevik Syversen finished 18th with a time of 1:15.40, and Ian McCormick finished 50th with a time of 1:23.22. 

The Rocky men finished second overall with a team time of 3:38.08. Vermont State-Castleton earned the team victory with a team time of 3:31.87. 

Women's Skier Cross

The Battlin' Bears earned their third National title of the week in the Women's Skier Cross, led by Synne Kvinlog defending her title on Wednesday. Sofia Brustia followed in second place, as the duo both earned their second All-American honors of the week so far. Sara Akerstrom finished 11th, Reese Harman finished 13th, and Emma Hiebert finished 15th to round out the Battlin' Bear competitors. 

The Battlin' Bears earned a team victory with 14 place points, defeating runner-ups College of Idaho by six points.

Men's RailJam

The Battlin' Bears had three competitors in the men's railjam to conclude Wednesday's competition. Gusten Berglund finished 39th, Felix Besser finished 43rd, and Austin Johnson followed in 44th. The Rocky men finished 14th in the team standings with 126 place points. 

Thursday's action will feature the women's slalom, as well as the men's slopestyle.
